Although most people are familiar with the term "ISO Quality Certified" some people aren’t aware of what it actually means. Technically, the accurate phrase is "…registered to ISO 9001:2000…" but people commonly refer to it as being "ISO Registered." Essentially, an international standards committee developed and maintains a program by which a company’s daily operations and managerial practices must meet a specified level of standards. If and when a company meets the ISO standards they are temporarily granted status of ISO Compliance (e.g., "ISO Certification"). But it doesn’t end there – all facets of daily operations and managerial practices are continuously monitored through audit and reporting standards. Your company is further subject to on-going periodic inspections by the ISO organization in order to ensure that the company consistently complies with the ISO quality certification standards.
