The BlueStor™ SAS Expander features dual 4x SAS ports for host connectivity and concatenation to additional storage units using low-cost multilane SAS cables.  It is compatible with every SAS and SATA-2 (3.5” form factor) disk drive on the market today, as well as a long list of compatibility-confirmed host adapters and SAS RAID controllers.  This SES 2.0 compliant product also features a unique Physical User Interface with real-time disk activity/failure status indicators as well as visible and audible alarms for power or cooling system failures.  Friendlier than most Enterprise-class hardware, the BlueStor™ 3U rackmounts all feature front-panel “on-off” and “alarm reset” switches. Any BlueStor™ SAS Expander may be field upgraded to the unique, patented PeSAN™ direct-attached PCI storage RAID system by replacing one plug-in module.  The SAS Expander and PeSAN™ 3U rackmounts use interchangeable FRUs for easy expandability and low spares cost.
